Communication and the Personality Spectrum

Contrary to popular belief, being “more of an extrovert” is not necessarily the key to success. Approximately half of the population leans toward a more introverted, introspective personality. Yet, all too often, we demand or reward extroversion - assuming it is essential to professional and personal advancement. This tendency can lead us to undervalue the power of the more introverted in our midst. Misunderstandings are created and important messages are missed when we disregard the personality spectrum and how it impacts communication.

This workshop sheds light on ways we articulate and how to more effectively connect  with one another in light of these qualities. Regardless of where you fall on the personality spectrum, you hold the power to make every relationship and organization stronger when you understand the dynamics behind our personal disposition.

CQ, or cultural intelligence, is the “capability to relate and work effectively across cultures” and is a vital relational skill for anyone who wants to thrive in a global community. How often do we find that the message received was not the message intended?

Understanding the complexities of communication in a diverse environment is the first step to connecting more effectively in a group settings.
